back in the late 60's and early 70's i wore a SOHIO uniform when working at the local gas station. hat, shirt, jacket, pants, shoes, and a belt with leather buckle. every car had its battery checked, and filled if necessary with distilled water, windshield washed, and oil checked.

My thoughts as well. Tough to tell, though.

It looks like there is a '35 Ford in the bay behind the '34.

I think you're right, the car in the shadows looks like a 35 with the horizontal louvers.

I do wonder about the guy pumping gas? Since when is the filler on the right?!

I think that it's probably a "posed picture". All of the lettering on the signs shown is presented normally, and the plates on the car show that it was not taken in some foreign country where they drive on the wrong side. Also, if the guy was actually filling the tank, he probably would not have been in the picture.

Is it just my eyes seeing things, or is the guy in back
holding a round disc or round object of some type ?

It looks to me like the guy in back s holding a rifle. But then, my 93 year old eyes do play tricks at times. LOL

I agree that it does look like a gas hose forming the round circle
I was seeing, but as Leadfoot says in post 8, since when is the
gas filler on the right ?
