Interesting Invoice. Not sure what all the charges are, like C&O, Truck ADV, Process Tax and Taxcreing MFB. Any Ideas

COD. Ford was gonna get paid. Times were tough back then. That's about the time my great uncles Cane Ford went broke. A little earlier in an effort to sell product in 1931 they offered a Model A sedan, A pickup and Fordson tractor for $1000. Found an old newspaper ad in the walls of the office when it was getting remodeled in the 70's.

Interesting that the up charge for dual rear wheels and tires was roughly 25% of the base truck price.
Keep in mind, the base truck probably included single rear wheels and tires. Goes to show you that the sales tactics of getting a customer into the base model (what they were probably hoping to spend!), then adding on all the "accessories" hasn't changed much in all these years! LOL |
