Took my Loyd out for its first long run on Monday, got up to 30mph in 4th. 81A Flathead 85HP with truck 4sp gearbox, all as original from 1944.

Hi Alastair. Re the carb icing (comment on the video) what manifold do you have and which carb? Most flatheads do have exhaust heat already in the inlet manifold. I don't know if icing is common, I have never had it but admittedly I do not do much winter driving. Having said that I drove my truck the other day and that had was ok.

The Loyds were a bit different than the Universal Carrier. They had a personnel TCP version and a TT weapons tow vehicle and support equipment carrier.
