Default Front bumper brackets

The right bracket is bent outward a little at the end of the frame rail. The left bracket is straight for several more inches before it curves outward to meet the bumper. Note that the left fender clears the bracket by about 1/2", but the right fender actually rubs against the bracket. Note also that the right end of the bumper is about 2" closer to the tire than the left end. These fenders did not come with the car, but all the mounting holes line up well with the holes on top of the frame. Also, I know that the bumper can be slid left and right as needed, but that won't help the issue du jour. What curvature is correct for these brackets, and how much space should there be between the fender and the bracket?

I compared about 15 sets of bumper supports. I figured that when something is bent by external influences, it will be bent differently the the next part bent from a different external force. So I figured the ones that matched, were not bent out of shape, and made the rest match them. I did the same with front axles when finding straight ones.

I just saw a pic on Facebook showing the front brackets from the same vantage as mine. No question--my left front bracket needs to be bent outward.
