Default Overdrive Solenoid's

Gentlemen,

Can anyone tell me if there is a functional difference in a 4AR10B-62 and a 10AR10B-62 overdrive solenoid? Are they both 6 volt?

Additionally, does anyone rebuild the overdrive solenoids?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks JDL for the solenoid info. According to the info, both part numbers I listed are 6 volt.

Functionaly, all the solenoids work in a similar manner. The Nash & Hudson stuff I've come across all works same way as Ford/Mercury but has different mounting style or bolt pattern and some have longer or shorter actuator shafts.

There are folks out there that rebuild the coils & replace the points on these and there are new replacements for some makes available. The Fifth Ave Internet Garage sells reproductions that fit some models.

Fifth Ave is sold out on solenoids. They are working on doing another production run. No time frame yet. So, it's fix-up time for now on existing solenoids.
