Default 36 flat top coil condenser

I have been having a hard time finding a late 36 flat top coil condenser. - I bought a 37 to 40 with the ground strap soldered to the side of the body and de-soldered it and resoldered it to the but end like the original.

a couple of questions :

- can/ should you solder on a condenser ? if so how hot ?
- these aftermarket condensers seem like junk - should the center screw
terminal be able to spin - I would bet "NO" - right out of the box -
spinning
- Does anyone have a good setup for these flat top distributors for a high quality condenser ?

i was told to talk to Tubman - but I cant PM him ! - I dont have enough posts

appreciate the help

Chris
