I have a 28 AA truck with dual rear wheels. Budd wheels with a special adapter that was likely era aftermarket. Pretty sure no dual wire wheels from the factory.

Same here, I've never seen wire spoke wheels on an AA. I have seen them on regular model A pickups. The Budd wheels on the AA are very heavy duty, probably because of the weight of a heavy payload, overloading, etc.

The 28 AA's had wire wheels, but they were much heavier than the car wheels. They also had lock rings on them like the discs and budds.

Looking at the design of the AA wire wheels, or A type, that would be some task to lock the 2 wheels together. They could not be mounted face to face.

I don't think the dual wheel option was available in wires. Part of the reason for the Budd wheel in 29 was to allow duals...
