Hi All,
As I was inspecting a Marvel Schebler carb to be used as a spare, I found a GAV assembly that I am not familiar with...does not look like the one on my engine. Does anyone have any knowledge as to type, date, etc.? I have attached photos of the GAV I am used to (first photo, and a front and back of the one that is weird to me. Thanks for any replies...The Geezer

Marvels have either a "hex" driver GAV, or a driver/valve that interchanges with the Zenith Model A.
Its been my inspection that the Hex version is more common. Renners can probably help you with either. https://www.rennerscorner.com/index.html Joe K

Now that makes sense! I didn't know there was a version that was "Zenithized"!!
I have already ordered parts from Rennerscorner and asked Daiiv the same question. Thanks to all who shed light on my question...The Barn rocks!

Another variant Marvel Carb on Ebay. This one has a "keyed" driver.
![]() This one I have not seen in real life. There is reportedly a Marvel variant that includes a "Power chamber." This can be told from the more common Marvels in that there is only one connection (in the usual Model A position) for the gas supply. I have one of these, (Ebay purchase a while back) but have not examined the veracity of this claim. Joe K

Perhaps the best we can say is the Marvel/Allstate carburetors "vary?" A previous discussion of the "power chamber" on this forum is what prompted me to purchase my newest Marvel variant.
But other than this previous *most excellent* write up of the internals/function of the typical Marvel, unlike the Zenith, no one has done a "type study." This earlier thread began in 2014, and has been appended variously in the years since. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139836 VERY well worth reading through if you're a Marvel operator. I don't run Marvel but the carburetor is intriguing simply because the reports are quite favorable. Joe K
