Default Kind of proud of my work

SO
I picked up a pair of 32 spark plug conduit's and on one side, one of the mounting hole feet was broken off. It was wired to the tube but broken off. Looking at the other foot and seeing it had been repair previously, I thought, "NO problem, I'll just take it by one of my welding shop customers that is 1/2 a block from my office and get him to TIG weld it back on for me and save me time and effort. SO did just that.....BUT the noodnick welded the foot onto the bracket "straight" NOT at a 90 degree angle (MORE THAN SHAKING MY HEAD, not like he had an example to follow, and sorry but already deleted those photos as proof) SO now I cannot bend it as his weld is strong and thick, its not bending (or at least not where it NEEDS to bend). SO,, I made a new bracket and bent and drilled the proper sized whole, then cut the original bracket along with my new bracket so the angles matched perfectly and welded my newly made foot onto the bracket. I am so pleased with the end result, it almost looks professional!!!

Once again, thank you very much......I expect my work to come out looking "professional" (that is my goal for every endeavor) and I'm not sure what I was (or wasn't expecting) but the finished product I was just so happy with how it came out even with what seems like a fairly simple repair.

Very nice repair. It's great when you see the fruits of your own labor. If your conduits have the little brass ferrule where the spark plug wires fit through, polish the brass and they will really look neat.

They are not brass....OR if they were they were brass plated.....They appear to me to be Aluminum OR maybe a zinc alloy maybe......NOT sure......Maybe David or Sheldon will chime in here OR I will get clarification in January!!!

In the '32 through '36 spark plug wire conduits, those grommets or ferrules are usually made of zinc and are very fragile.

I thought they were zinc, very light material. ALL but one is in good shape, 1/2 the "flange" is missing on one!!!!
