Default 1938 Pickup---Cab is on the frame!

Progress!!! The painted cab is on the frame, The wood is in place and there are several long bolts dropped from the cab thru the wood and into the holes on the frame.
My friend is stuck---he doesn't remember where the springs go and how many he should have. Was there any padding or shim between the front cab bolts and the frame? The wood starts somewhat to the rear of those front bolts.
Thanks
