Besides bragging rights and $600, what is the difference between Offenhauser and Edelbrock heads?
And can I/should I, reuse the original Ford cylinder head bolts? Does torqueing them to 45 pounds actually stretch them?

I M H O, I wouldn't waste money on either, unless you are building a performance engine. I have had 2 8BA engines both with Isky Max1 cams. One had stock heads, the other Offy heads. The stock performed just as well as the Offy heads. No difference in performance or economy.

engine (no other changes), on the dyno. 2- Yes, just power wire brush all over and run a die nut over them. 3- No. You should also run HARD 1/8 thick washers on them. Apply high temp. RTV to the threads when installing and slightly oil both sides of the washers. |
