Default pop out ignition

i have a 29 sedan with what i assume is the original pop out. the armored cable seems to be much too long. maybe as much as 1-2". it can't be pulled into place to install the junction box lid without causing trouble. any thoughts?

What kind of problems are you hav to at the junction box? Too long of a cable is preferable to too short. There was a change between 29/30 in lengths. Dick Crabtree restored my pop out and did a great job. May want to check with him.

As previously mentioned there is a difference in the lengths of the cables (28-29) compared to the (30-31). See the attached drawing.
