Has anyone ever turned there crank out windshield on a 1935 pickup into a sealed permanent windshield ? and how and what did you use ? Tired of air and water leaks even with new correct gaskets.

You could always seal around the windshield with Permatex or some other sealer, but remember, you are driving an 87 year old vehicle, not a 2022 vehicle, and you are gonna have air/wind noises, even if you seal around the W/S. You even have those kinds of sounds/noises in a 2022 vehicle, perhaps not as loud, but you're still gonna have them. You are bucking air pressure when you're moving, in any vehicle, and that makes a noise. My 2¢.

I gave up on mine and removed the original type gasket and used the following in it's place. it's just peel and stick. Worked great for me.

What you think about adding this seal to backside, while keeping current seal in place ?
Wondering if I could leave Windshield attached to top hinges . Unhook from Windshield crank arms . Prop out far enough at bottom, to install new seal on backside without taking frame completely off car ? Stretch |

Yes, I have to agree with ThirdGen -- the new gaskets for the windshield frame are nice, but once installed in the frame, they do not seal to the body. At one point I was going to remove the cab from the frame, and then lay it on its back and have 4 friends push down on the windshield frame to get it to seal. Even tried to apply some heat (hair dryer) to get it to conform to the opening.
