Default Repair of rubber nose tips on 60HP water pumps

I don't want to destroy the rubber nose tips on the water pumps on my 60HP display engine project. Replacement tips are nowhere to be found. The old tips are hard as rock and cracked here and there. In the past I have used PC7 to repair missing chunks of old hardened running board rubber and fill in cracks and build up missing large chunks in old Ford steering wheels with acceptable results. I am thinking of using it to repair the water pump tips to make them presentable looking. I thought I would run it by you guys for your thoughts and opinions. What say y'all? Any better ideas/solutions?
