If so, I hope the new company starts reproducing parts that DRAKE intially made available, like Deluxe grilles and hood ornaments.

Seems confusing. Here's a discussion:

I am not sure if it’s true or not, but I believe it. Holley seems to be buying up other popular auto businesses. They recently purchased Detroit Speed.

Didn't they also buy Edelbrock?

This rumor is not correct.. I just got off phone talking with Bob. His younger brother Scott Drake has sold his Mustang Parts Business to Holley. Bob Drake Restoration parts is still alive and well being run by Bob's son Trent.

That sounds like good first-hand info for a change. Thanks for posting.

That might be too bad that Drake has not been sold to Holley. I was hoping that Holley would be better about keeping items in stock, vs "Out Of Stock Bob".

Here's hoping that son Trent can fill the big shoes that Bob has left to fill.
Consider for a minute where most restorations done in the last 40 years would have been without the hundreds of different parts produced and made available by Bob over the years. Hundreds of "Out of Stock" parts would simple NEVER HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE.

Good news!.....thanks for posting. I'm sure Bob's still in charge and calling the shots, but hopefully Trent will keep the business rolling in the future.
Some folks here seem to like bashing old Bob, but ironically keep buying from him. I'm personally thankful for all the good things he has done for our hobby.

JM 35 Sedan makes a very good point. I remember buying my locking gas cap and lots of other 40 restoration parts from BOB DRAKE when he was in Canoga Park, CA back in the 70s. His catalog was about an inch thick.

Were it not for DRAKE lots of folks lots of cars would never have been restored.I am grateful that BOB DRAKE stepped up years ago and started his business.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you as DRAKES parts for the most part are very high quality, especially his grilles, despite the back order issues. Let's hope that improves.

Of course, if your building to AACA standards you try to fond OEM parts. However, many of those parts are scarce.

Many slow moving items have been discontinued. The investment necessary to produce a product run that lasts 5-10 years or more isn’t always a wise financial decision in our current time’s.
