I've been fussing with this for literally decades, but only found out about the channels with the riveted hooks a few years back. Finally got a set from Brattons. They have hooks on both ends, which matches the metal channels on the car. I read in a post from 5 years ago, that the originals were stretched into place. These don't stretch. If they did, they would be a perfect fit. So what does everyone do? Do you bend the tabs, and then try to bend them back ? It seems that they would stretch a little and fit if one could get enough leverage, but I haven't figured out the right angle yet.

Bend top tab to install, then snug to fit. Doing a 34 ccpu with similiar channels I think.
Also read where pop rivets have been used. |
