Brake Tools

Just finished a brake job on my 46. Wrestling the 4 brake spring was quite a job. Is there a tool made to do that job? Thanks Dave/Green Bay

Yes. It's a drum brake multi-tool. They have a hook on one end for stretching the spring over to the other shoe.

They are still made new, but I'm sure Ebay would be full of used ones. I have a Snap-on version and it's an excellent tool. Shouldn't cost you much since most modern cars are disc brakes now.

Just look for brake pliers or brake spring pliers on ebay. Should be less than 10 bucks.

Doing brakes without the brake tools is a BIG job! I have several different sets and find some tools work better on some brakes and the others better on a different set of brakes.

Easier and SAFER. I know a guy with only one eye from using needle nose pliers pulling on brake springs......Mark
