Hello Community,
as the title suggests, I need to change the rear axle shafts because the threads for the axle nut are severely damaged and I'd prefer for the wheels to stay on the car. ![]() When I change the shafts (I'm not sure if I'll get new or used ones at the moment), do I need to set up the diff again or does it have no effect on the preload? I'd guess that it doesn't matter because the bearings are supported by the housing of the differential and changing the axles would not change the preload of the differential, but I'm not 100 % sure if that's the case. So before I dismount everything again I'd like to ask someone who knows here first. Thanks and have a nice day, Daniel |
