Guys I'm afraid to ask this question. Should I be able to feel play in my 5 speed transmission input shaft?

a little side to side play is pretty normal, in and out should be none, or darn close to it

That's why the pilot bushing/bearing in the rear of the crankshaft is so important. It accepts the slim snout on that input shaft and keeps it firmly centered in line with the crankshaft. DD |
