The early floorboard pedal plate, used from sop thru about November 1928 was a rubber piece with a metal insert.
Would anyone have a photo of that metal insert? Thanks. Pluck |

Here are a couple of pictures of an original plate. The metal is completely covered by the molded rubber, which makes the entire piece quite stout.
