I’m guessing the worn part is made of lead. The springs appear to be weak as well.

I have seen reproductions of this part and they were all of poor quality.
I believe Bratton's has the parts to rebuild yours. My opinion, Chris W. |

I looked in Brattons and Snyder’s before posting. Can’t you tell me the name of the part? I didn’t see anything in the index. And nothing looked similar in the door part pictures.

Here is a reproduction dovetail receptacle on my 190A. It fit and functions very well. My 190A has the reproductions on both doors.

Excellent! Thanks so much everyone for your help. This is my first Model A, and I’m still learning. I had no idea of the part name.

Sorry, that was a typo. I meant to type “Can you,” not “Can’t you.” I truly appreciate the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The part you need is called a Dove Tail Guide insert. They are used on the Victorias, Slant windshield sedans and and I would assume 400As & 68Cs. Bratton's says that they are used on Slant Windshield cars. Bratton's part number is 30970 on page 135 of their 2018 catalog. $6.75 for 2.
To remove the insert, push it toward the interior of the car and then pull up(bottom) or down (top) on the outside edge.
