Between the top and the two steel support ribs is what looks like a rope about 1/2" in dia. It looks original but is hard and want to replace it. calling different suppliers, no one knows what it is. Any ideas? Paul

There does not appear to be anything under mine but I'm sure there is at least some anti-rattle material there. A 1/2" rope is too big and nothing like it is used anywhere on the late '31.

Here are some shots of original anti-rattle rope from a Budd cab.
This was sent to me by John Charlton when I was restoring my truck and he gave me the unique top bows for the roof (Thanks again John!). -Tim
