Default 1940 85 HP Fuel Pump

Who makes a fuel pump that will withstand today’s fuels. I’ve been running on a Electric for a few years and would like to try a mechanical one along with the electric.

Thx....Mike

You can have an authentic pump rebuilt quite easily to accommodate today's fuel offerings.
I'd suggest you contact CharlieNY (right here on the Barn). He probably has them in stock. He does wonderful work and is reasonable.
I have heard less than favorable things about the repops offered by drake, etc.

I second Kube's recommendation.
Charlie does a premium job on these pumps.

Even if you find a reproduction pump with internals that will withstand todays fuels, it would most likely operate at a pressure that's too high for your carburetors float system.
Another recommendation to have Charlie ny rebuild an original fuel pump for you.

I am using Airtex fuel pump in my 40.I use the one with the bowl so I can see whats going on!Never liked the original type. You can get either one at Summit Racing.I think they are the best out there.Never had a problem.Stands up to todays fuels.
