1951 ford trunk lids were the coupe did they have long trunk lids or short

Same as the other cars. The difference is in the panel between the back window and the top of the trunk lid; it's longer on the coupes.

The 51 trunk lid has interior trunk lid hinges. The 49 & 50 have exterior hinges. You cannot put a 51 trunk lid on a 49 or 50 without the interior panel that has the inside hinge mechanism. It's not the easiest swap.
