Just put the flathead motor and 3 speed transmission in my 49 F1. Can't seem to get the shifter lined up right after removing it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rich

did you remove the shifter handle or the whole tower assembly? make sure both the shifter and the trans are in neutral. if you remove the tower make sure the first/reverse gear slide gear is in the neutral position, if you only removed the shifter handle then look down in the tower and make sure the linkage is in neutral-the slots for the handle will be aligned

Also, the lever must have its alignment slot oriented to the trunnion pin as you drop it down into the shifter tower. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...sinneutral.htm Be sure to use the CLICK HERE link to see the second picture for the article.
