Default Cab door lock

Why did Ford put the cab door lock on the passenger side ???

What year was it changed to the drivers side ???

A search will discovery more info. Back in the day people actual got out of the car to the sidewalk side as it was "maybe" to dangerous to do otherwise. Nanny state stuff, haha or just smart practice. Plus streets sucked, muddy etc.

Ahh. You were more likely to get run over by a friggin horse!! ! Henry cared as did other manufacturers. dont know the first year though .

But yes the lock was to keep people out of traffic. Otherwise it would have been on the drivers side or not at all.

As a note. safety is also a selling point "no duh". Mob rule or I don't want to buy something that will harm me or my loved ones.
