Default Brake Rod Interference

Hey All,

I was adjusting my brakes yesterday and noticed that my rear brake rods are being bent by making contact with my shocks. I straightened them both and went for a test drive and had a look, ... Again, they were bent. I straightened them again AND adjusted the shocks adjusting screw to 3/8 from closed and took her out again and the same damned thing.

I rebuilt the rear spring and I did measure the height and arch of the rear spring and it is within specs. I had to adjusted the arch on 3 out of the 10 leafs.

The shocks were purchased as a complete set Snyders part# A-18015-K

When I bought the car it had frozen front shocks and no rears installed so it possibly was an issue for the previous owner. The front spring had 1 leaf broken and was replaced with a new spring assembly. As I mentioned earlier, the rear has been rebuilt and measures to specs. I have completely rebuilt the chassis so I would think any past issues would be resolved.

Regards
Bill
