Sometime you have to put a sick dog down.
I would not recommend driving a car that you know is unsafe. Put the car up on blocks, take your brakes apart. See what you need. Start ordering needed parts. Don’t leave anything undone. Check the complete system. Everything. Model A’s stop great with correctly restored brakes. Enjoy. |

Replace the linings and adjust the brakes if you are not going to do it all. Then replace the linings again when you do it all.

Knowing you have faulty brakes puts all the liability on you. It's public now. Fix the brakes back to original and enjoy (virtually) fast, sure, & secure stopping. Some venders sell complete rebuilt brakes on backing plates ready to install. Add some cast iron drums on hubs with bearings and seals in place and never worry about your brakes the rest of your life.

You admit how bad they are, what are you going to say to the attorney when he you asks you either for medical purposes or property damages why you were driving the car? they ask the questions like this to determine fault and to see if you are negligent in operating a motor vehicle. Keep everyone safe and get your brakes done right. Don't ride on luck

I agree with aermotor, But DON'T drive it like you have really made any brake improvement and we might not need to worry as much about you. Get a loan and fix 'em before you regret not doing it.

Only way to know is to take them apart.
My grease was so old and hard the parts were not moving! |

yea brakes are #2 most important thing on any car (steering #1) so i agree with relining and adjusting at a minimum.

You have to do it all or none. Hydraulics will make up for a lot of issues, Mechanical will not. Methodically overhauled my brakes according to specifications and now have excellent brakes.

Some ask but don't want to hear. No bad advice was offered here.
