Default Alternator PULLEY

What diameter pulley do you with alternators use? I just brought an alternator home from the rebuilder I use and saw that it had a very small pulley. I was sure that it was the smallest I had seen. Well wrong again. The one on my roadster is also small, two inch. I nave one on a coupe that is 2 1/2 inch, all seem to function well. Just curious what others may be using and why. I bought one of the better mounting kits and it also has a 2" pulley included with it,

Thanks,
Dave Mc Arthur
