Turn signals work fine. In a quiet place, like in the garage without the engine running I can hear the clicks when it operates. Forget it on the road. I drive merrily down the road with my blinker on.
I bought a beeper from Snyders and the instructions are explicit and simple. With 12V negative ground, which I have, black wire to ground and red wire to blue wire. Its nice and loud when tested on the battery. OK, I assume the socket which holds the "blinker" is the source of the blue wire. Nope, it has red, black and yellow. Any good suggestions out there. The following have already been used. 1. Model A doesn't have 12V 2. Model A doesn't have turn signals. 2. Whats the matter don't you have a left arm? Richard Anaheim CA |

Richard, if you have a test light or volt meter see if the yellow wire on the "blinker" is the output for your signal lights. If the test light goes on and off with the "blinkers" turned on then connect your red wire on the beeper to the yellow wire and black to ground. Your beeper should work when you turn on your turn signals. Bob

The red wire on the beeper should go to the terminal marked “P” (pilot). The black wire is the ground.

I would never drive a car fitted with non-cancelling blinkers without a beeper.
Easy way to get T-Boned or head on if you leave the blinker on. |

Just buy a 5 Volt beeper at Radio Shack or ebay and put it ACROSS the normally closed terminals on the flasher. When flasher points closed = no beep, When flasher points open = beep. If you run LED turn signals this won't work but will for all other bulbs.

I have a motorcycle flasher unit and the beep is so loud that we turn it off as soon as practicable after turning a corner.

My wife drives our roadster to shows while I follow in the Chrysler or Auburn. She almost always forgets to turn off the directional signal and that very bright LED blinks at me for miles. So, I installed a beeper to remind her to turn the signal off after a turn. Problem is that it's a roadster and there is a lot of road noise so she can't hear the beeper. Doesn't help either that we are both in our late 70's.
But, I am extremely lucky to have a wife of 55 yrs who loves Model A's, especially roadsters, and is happy to not only look at them but to drive them as well. For the early spring shows on chilly mornings, she bundles up warmly and merrily drives with the side curtains off. Sorry to change the subject a little but these things make me happy. Glen

I plugged a beeper into my huckster turn signals and it was so loud I thought I was a gravel truck backing up! Took it back off because everyone looked at me on my drive.
