I found this post on Corvette Forum. I use Safari so have not tried it. Thought it might be of interest.
John Photobucket Image fix A lot of you know me and know that I do IT work for a living. Not sure if this has been posted before but thought I'd post to allow my fellow CF buds to "go back in time". Don't you just hate it when you look up something and the thread has all those dead, non-working pictures? As we all know, Photobucket screwed the pooch when they stopped allowing third party hosting, thus making it virtually impossible to see images that were posted in threads here on CF and were linked back to the original images on PB. It killed thousands upon thousands of images and those images can be extremely helpful when we're trying to resolve problems with our vehicles. A few weeks back, there were fixes put out for Chrome, Firefox and Opera (they're simply extensions you add on to the browser) which allow you to see those original images again. I have not seen any fixes for Internet Explorer. I have not tried the fixes on Chrome or Opera as I use Firefox. Please note: you MUST download and use the new v57 beta of Firefox for this to work. For those who are using Google Chrome as their browser, download this extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...=1507775650291 For those who like to use Firefox, download this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...=1505219095970 I tested this extension with older versions of Firefox and it didn't work. Now when you search those old threads, the images will work again. I don't think its infallible however. If the original images were removed from PB, then those are just gone. I have tested it and it works great. Not sure how permanent this fix might be but enjoy it while it lasts. Photobucket might see these fixes and do something else to block them further. Any questions on how to install the extensions, just ask. I'll be as helpful as I can. |

As long as posters are using these type of links there is always the possibility for the links becoming invalid. To me it is much better to attach the files directly and avoid this potential issue altogether.

But just realized that the main reason for Photobucket (at least for me) was the ability to post large pic's and I don't really need a place to save pictures. That being said, Photobucket account 'CLOSED' ![]()
