Default Help identifying old Ford transmission?

Hey guys,

I've been trying to identify this transmission that my dad gave me. He always thought it was a model A or model T but I haven't found one that looks just like this. Any clues?

Thanks for anything you can offer

Mike

Those numbers look like late 1920's early 1930's Chevy.

Bob

Found this on another site. Chevy numbers are as follows: 1928 - 590321, 590328, 590279. 1929/30 -590391. 1931 - 590452.

Yes, 1928 Chevrolet but with the shift lever altered (-along with pulleys added of course).

Looks like it was rigged to re-power flat belt machinery, common on old lathes.
