Talking 1 year of model a driving

I have been driving the model A over 1 year now, since end of februari i use it as a daily driver.
The dicision to use it as a daily was made when i definatly stopped working and did not have to drive to work,i did this with the A but the fuel consumption did a big attack on the wallet so i did return to a modern(1982)car to go to work.
Now i don't have to drive so many miles and i stored the modern car and use only the A.
As i live in a very busy area(Amsterdam)with lots of traffic i thought it would be difficult to drive an old car into this traffic,i was wrong.........the A easy keeps up with the modern traffic and it takes a smile to the other drivers as the pass by,on the highway i keep it on the right lane and go with the trucks as they are limited to 80-85 km/h.
I did until now from feb.9500km without trouble........think i will never use the modern again.

Hi Rene,

Your message is an inspiration for continuing energetic Model A restoration.

Get them out on the open highway ....... surrounding scenery always appears to look better for Model A owners when seen through a Model A windshield.

Some on here may remember me. I bought my car with the intention of proving the point that the Model A was built to be driven daily. I put some time getting it sorted out, sold my daily, so I would be committed to driving it every day. That was 14 months ago and over 10,000 miles. I am in south Florida, and the traffic is bad. I drive every day from Coral Springs to Boca Raton to work and back. I joined the local Model A club, and also make all of there runs and events. This car has always got me where I was going and got me home. So you can take it from me, they were built to drive. Have I had any problems, yes, but I fixed them and kept on going. And I don't plan on giving up on her, cause she hasn't gave up on me.

As i said before the only thing what should hold me from driving it are the fuel prices, overhere these are high.
Otherwise a model A can be used as a daily driver,it worked back in the days so why not now?
Most of the members of the dutch model A club don't drive it a lot, most of them are trailer queens.Last januari we had the annual members meeting,it was freezing and snowing a bit and i was the only member with a model A as the nothers turned up with their modern cars and they looked at me as i was a three legged monster or something.
I asked if i was at the wrong meeting.........

I was in Amsterdam in April this year and there was a lot of traffic and very crowded. I admire you driving your Model A there. Enjoy your A.
