I just received my glass kit after 5 wks. The side glass at the 2 top corners has a radius of 3/8", my door has a radius of 1 3/4". The supplier does not know much about it, so he gave me the number for Vintage glass but they are closed till Monday. I bought a channel kit and it has a piece of flat sheet metal that goes across the top that fits the radius of 1 3/4". Help what should I do?
thanks nick c |

Did they give you the right piece for the back window, they my have gave you the wrong year or model. Please let me know because I also have a 29 AA. Sorry mine didn't have any windows in it when I got it. Nick were you from?

I went out to the garage to look at my 29ccpu door glass, the radius at the top corners is about 3/8,the trim on the inside around the window has right angle corners at the top.I had my glass cut using the old plate glass as a pattern,I have no idea what that flat piece of metal would be for.

Is the 1 3/4" radius measured at the door frame as in the first picture?
The glass has a much smaller radius...maybe 3/8"...the glass slips up inside the door frame.....

The pattern SHOULD be according to the Ford published glass chart.
![]() Note that the glass for the 28-29 CC pickup is the upper LH corner. There is an error on the chart mislabeling the Tudor glass (which on the upper LH they mean the Model T Tudor) which might confuse. Note also that a radius for the upper corners of this glass is not specified except "round & polish." Other later glasses have "break corners" or specific radii. I think a radius here is not critical providing the corner isn't so sharp it "hangs up" on the hairs of the channel. Joe K

Gunmetal front and back glass fit good, Miami and Ocala fl. Cj5 first pic, yes. My window channel kit came from mikes,A45983pu $60.00. as you can see from the pic, the sheet metal strip is 3/4" x 27 3/4" long with 3 holes for machine screws 8x 32. it fits the inside radius of door and ends up perfect on top of channel, then glue on molded rubber. Now I will have to bend the metal strip out straight and raise the felt channel 1" to meet the foam rubber. thanks again, nick c |

The glass guy I use asks people what they want for a radius. His measurements are, pencil eraser, dime, nickel, quarter,or a half dollar. Most can't seem to understand what the radius will look like if given in numbers, but everybody can picture the curves of a coin.
