Default The 1931 "Special Shelve" Deluxe Delivery

Just what was the 1931 "Special Shelve Deluxe Delivery" body? (and it was not the "Deluxe Delivery with Drop Floor")! Something tells me that a few years back we discussed this and I don't think it was "Special Shelve" but something else. Anyone?

It is listed on the 1931 MONTHLY Assembly Record Type documents, starting with June 1931, as SPEC. SHELV. DELUXE DELY.

I do not think that it was a particular "body style" but just some "Special Shelf" that was put into a Deluxe Delivery???

Is this the same thing as described in the August 1929 Service Bulletin? No it is not. The 1931 "special shelve" DD is somewhat mentioned in The Ford Model A as Henry Built It by DeAngles, Francis and Henry. There it shows, I think, the inside back of a DD, and that it was developed by the R. J Reynolds Tobacco Co. and "was made a standard item for all DD".

Thanks.

Pluck
