Default '36 Coupe Trunk Lid Seals

When I got my '36 coupe, it had a cobbed up seal in the lower trunk lid channel and nothing in the top, I bought a 2-piece seal kit from MAC'S, but of course, it didn't come with a diagram. Does the wider piece fit in the body channel and does it go "U" cross section up or down ? Same question with the lid - small seal in the lid groove and "U" section down towards the lid or towards the body.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

The body side U shaped seal, the U goes towards the body. The lid side the U goes towards the lid.
