Default Top Dressing

I used top dressing/ black sold in quarts by Brattons and others for top cosmetics only --- not for leaks.

It's no longer listed in the Brattons and Snyders catalogues. So I called Brattons today to see why --- and would you believe it --- the EPA shut it down.

Suggestions please. Thanks!

Peyton

I used roofing tar like material for patching roofs. It was so I could drive in the rain without getting drowned out. It worked fine and there were some tears in the top that I covered with duct tape before loading on the sticky tar type stuff. Not a show car but works for my purpose. I have a top to put on if we get another dry spell in CALIFORNIA

For the past 30+ years I have used 303 Aerospace Protectant on all my vehicles on plastic, rubber, door seals etc. and find it a superior product over many others plus I do not need multiple bottles of different products on my shelves. Also does not leave that overly shiny cheap look when absorbed. Blocks most UV rays also. Replaced the vinyl top on my 1931 slant 4 Door Sedan back in 1988 and it looks like the day I put it on. I trust this product enough to use on my 2017 Mercedes SL450.

I have used this on my 1931 160B which still has the original top, works great!!!

There are three on eBay, but make sure it is not an empty display can.

I used the following stuff on my Town Sedan 5 years ago, at the suggestion of someone on Ford Barn, and it made the top look great! Before I applied it, the top was kind of grey looking. This stuff made it look black again. See photo where it is only applied to one side.

I got it originally from Griot's Garage, but they no longer sell it.

This appears to be the same stuff.

YMMV.

Worked for me. I see the can and the applicator. Could it be the mobile version of the site only displays one item at a time?

I'm lucky as the Griot's flagship store is 10 minutes from home. I have been using their "Black vinyl top re-conditioner for several years with great success. The Sunbrella #303 sounds interesting too. I have several bottles I use for outdoor fabric.
