Default 1951 F2 Differential problem.

I am new to the forum, and need advice. I took the stock rear end out of the F2 and took it to a reputable shop in Dallas and was quoted $3100 to rebuild it. I was not expecting that. This truck was in a barn for 38 years, until 2 years ago. I thought the engine may have been bad, but i got the old flathead running, which i was excited about.

i need some options, i would love to keep it original, but thats alot of money. I was told any 9 inch ford truck rear end pre 1974 would basically bolt right up. i appreciate any help you folks might lend me!

You need to ask this question on the early V8 forum. This section is for questions about the site not car questions. By the way I have an F2 and the same idea is in the back of my mind as the rear ratio in these is on the low side anyway.
