Default ccpu windshield installation

i'm finally ready to install the windshield in my 31 ccpu and have a few questions;
1. there is a rubber seal with a 1/2" +- flange and then a weird shaped edge to it. i know this seal is supposed to go between the header and the windshield hinge, but exactly does it fit? where does the wierd edge go?
2.can you mount the hinge piece and slide the windshield into it, or must it all go up as one piece?
3. i am assuming this is best a two man job? i don't think the 100lb boss lady is going to be much help on this. i'll probably need to wait till some volunteers come by.

It can be done by one person, Put a thick blanket on your hood to protect the paint. Then put a large cardboard box about one foot thick on the blanket that is on the hood. Then place your windshield on the cardboard box and scoot the windshield until the hinge is in the proper place, then put the screws in. Remove the box and close the windshield.
The picture shows a original Ford gasket.

thanks!! that is the way i thought it went, but wasn't sure. i'm thinking about sticking the
gasket to the hinge with yaller goo and punching the screw holes before trying to mount. probably simplify things a bit.
