Default Using an ultrasonic cleaner on a Carburetor?

Has anyone tried using an ultrasonic cleaner to clean up a Zenith carburetor? I have used these cleaners for years in cleaning up antique radio components, and was reading in one of the antique radio forums where some of the guys have also used these cleaners on small engine carbs. I sounds interesting! They even claim that they can remove some corrosion with certain cleaning agents. I generally use Simple Green and warm water in mine with good results on the radio parts. I don't think it is safe to use flammable solvents, nor have I ever considered using them. I was just wondering if anyone here had ever tried using them.

i use my cleaner to clean gun parts also. gets in all the nooks and doesnt require 100% disassembly.

as long as whatever solvent you use doesn't eat the material your tryign to clean (simple green is perfect) you shouldnt have any problems. Just dissassemble as much as you can and let it soak and buzz.

I used an ultrasonic cleaner with simple green to clean carb jets. The unit had a heater as part of it. I was not very impressed with the results. The brass parts took on a dark reddish brown color and it still left some deposits on the parts.
I have not tried placing the cast iron or steel parts in the solution.
Hope you have better results.

An Ultrasonic Foot Washer works well. I use Tide or T.S.P. & warm water & PURPLE Aquarium Gravel. Sometimes I add a little Vinegar.

I have used the ultrasonic cleaner with the heat and a mixture of simple green. It does a great job just be careful it doesn't stay in there too long. If so it will start to etch the pot metal. You don't have to use much simple green. My son uses this as a means to clean all his friends cycle carbs.

yea, put parts in, run a cycle, then immediately remove and flush with water then inspect for debris. an air hose with a blow nozzle is great so it can blow out any passage ways

Sounds like I left the jets in the solution too long. Good to know!
Good Day!
