I notice that there is a significant amount of posts about mysterious hardware and parts on this forum. Maybe one of these two booklets noted below will help you.
There are two publications on the market that specialize in hardware and trimming parts used in Model A & B vehicles, and early V8 Fords. These are reprints of Ford's booklet entitled,"Automotive Hardware and Trimming Supplies." One version covers the period of 1928 to 1934, and the other covers 1928 to 1938. The booklets contain escutcheons, window regulators, door operating parts, springs, screws, nuts, bolts, rivets, snaps, spring clips, pins, body brackets, seat hardware, dome lights, window and door trim items, and many many more items. Both of these booklets show pictures, list the usage of the parts by body type number, and list Ford's part numbers for hundreds of hardware and trim items. Reprints of these Ford booklets should be available from your Model A parts supplier, and I highly recommend that every Model A'er have at least one of them. The 1928 to 1934 version is likely better for Model A's. The cost of these booklets is about $15 each. When restoring my 190A, I went through the Automotive Hardware and Trimming Supplies booklet with a highlight marker, and highlighted every item indicated for this car. In several cases, I found some hardware and window regulators I needed are common to an early V8 car. ![]() ![]()
