Default 39 pickup engine double oil pressure relief

I need to replace the oil pump (50lb). I am looking at the oil pump in the Dennis Carpenter catalog 68-6600 and that part number has an internal oil pressure relief plunger/spring. Can this part be used when there already is a pressure relief plunger/spring at the front of the engine?
