Recently acquired a mid 1928 AA flat bed (88a) and it was semi-apart. I've checked the AA site but can't find this bracket. I believe it's part of the bed but not sure. Didn't find any holes yet that match. Any ideas?

Hmm i dont recognize it but clearly a factory made item... Looks like it clamps down on a rod of some sort.

Looks like an anchor bracket for a sway bar. Have you been racing this AA?

Could it be a spare tire stop under the bed? If you had two I think that that would be a possibility. Another possibility is some type of Stake holder. You might ask Neil Wilson with the AA club.

I don't recognize it as any part of the bed assembly. Possibly associated with some type/style of side racks. The remaining paint looks like it could be a match to Rock Moss Green.
Definitely not a spare tire anti rattle piece. Have any pictures of your new find???

Tom, why don't you drive that truck over to my place and leave it for about 3 or 4 years and I will see if I can find a spot to install that bracket?

Dimensions might help. How big or small is it? What size are the holes?
