Motor loans, I like that. My 1922-23 Cardway was originally owned by The Presudent of Timken Bearings who shipped it to his home in Australia. It returned to Canada after his passing. Wayne

I don't know about 1930, but that stretch of Figueroa now is about six lanes wide!

And of course those neat old buildings are gone gone gone.

Thanks for posting. It reminded me of my 1956 teenage summer when I drove a 3-wheel Harley for the local Dodge/Plymouth dealer as a parts runner. Best job in the world for a teenage boy!

Same for me! Had a job at Lathrop Hoffman Studebaker (son of Paul Hoffman) in Huntington Park, CA while in high school and first year of college (1955 -1957). Use to drive new Studebakers off the assembly line in Vernon, CA and deliver them to the dealer with the Harley hooked behind.
Great job for a teenager.

That address would now be part of the Los Angeles Convention Center where the Los Angeles Auto Show is held.

If you Google the address (2152 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles), the building looks remarkably similar to the one in this photo. The facade has been modernized some (probably earthquake upgrades), but it still has the bricks on either side of the entrance door at the corner of the building. It also still has the address number in the window above that door.

Here is a link to some street scenes in my city (Melbourne) from several decades. They range from the 1900's to fairly recent and show the city warts and all. I remember many of those building but alas, many are now gone. Progress???
