There was a huge fire this morning in a former Bethlehem Steel facility south of Buffalo. See the enclosed URL. The facility is the equivalent of 6 city blocks under roof. The article says that over 100 firefighters were involved. The owners started marketing this as winter car and boat storage last year. I briefly considered keeping my 34 there this winter, as it is fairly close to my house. Fortunately, I never gave it serious consideration as I didn't think it was secure enough. I am sure there were a lot of nice classic cars destroyed today. What a shame!
I guess I learned that if you are going to let someone else store your car, keep it in a reputable place that is a dedicated vehicle storage facility - even if it costs a few bucks more. I'm
so glad that I did.
