Question Model B engine info

I picked up an old October 32 engine, with unbalanced crank, and .040" over with all ford parts. The crank pulley, was in a box with the round cylinder bearing surface broken off next to the hub.
1) it's a smaller diameter pulley than an A
2) it's threaded in the center of the pulley, so I was able to get the broken piece off, leaving a good pulley.
Anyone have info on this? Why smaller, and are any parts available, or just use an A pulley? Tia

A '32 "B" pulley is the same as a Model A Pulley.

I do not quite understand what pulley you actually have.

Can you post a picture?

was that someone's idea of a 2 piece pulley?

typically smaller puppies are used as performance things. Lets the engine spool up quicker as it uses less torque to turn the belt accessories . It does slow down the Speed of the belt.

if its only a little smaller it may be so it gives more clearance to remove the belt and pulley

I took a pulley off an engine that was the screw together type, I don't think they are very good as it wont stay screwed together anymore.

Both those pulleys are repos. The screw together one is not a very good one but I find them from time to time. As said in a previous post the 32 pulley is the same as the Model A. The difference comes in 33 when the radiator was leaned back at the top and the waterpump was modified causing the pulley and generator to be different.

Thanks Bob, I'd never seen that style of two piece pulley before.
