I have my engine/trans in the car ('38 Ford) and am preparing to mount the clutch equalizer ball. I know it must be reinforced along the bottom of the frame rail but I don't know what kind of material or the measurements. Any information on the stock reinforcement measurements, etc, would be appreciated.
If you all will bear with me for just a little longer I hope to stop asking so many questions. |

Thanks Ken. That helps a lot!! Does it seem to be just common steel, not hardened? The sides being turned down help it, too. I'll see what I can come up with to duplicate it.

I made one for a friends car a few weeks ago and made it out of 3/8 flat bar. Worked out great.

I also replaced the original 21-studder with a demon in my early 38 a long time ago in a place far far away. Then not so long ago closer by I replaced the demon with the original 21-studder. But I don't recall ever having to fuss or worry about mounting a so-called "clutch equalizer ball" with either the demon or the 21-studder. What's it look like? Perhaps I did fuss with it but didn't know it?
