This has never happened to me before...
Turned on ignition... I hit the starter button on the floor...starter keeps turning...does not engage the flywheel but will not start the car...the only way I could turn it off is by disconnecting my battery...even the ignition switch in off position will not stop the starter...what the heck is going on? ![]() Thank you. |

guy, Sounds like the contacts in your floor foot starter switch have shorted together inside the switch housing. The ignition switch has no control or connection over the foot starter switch. New 33-34 foot starter switches are always available on ebay. Just google "34 Ford starter switch". These switches have not been reproduced in modern times and are a little different to the 1935 switch which has been reproduced. Change the switch first and then check the starter motor which might be OK. Regards, Kevin.
