Default Carb rebuild

Just a quickie- I`m rebuilding my spare carb, a Kayce, using a Snyder`s kit, there appears to be 2 compensator jets ? they both fit the hole but are different sizes, I don`t think I`ve missed something

Dennis, never heard of a Kayce carb, US or European or Brit. You're going to educate me.

Dennis,

Not sure about Kayce BUT:

On Zenith:

the smaller one is the comp jet.

The larger one is the GAV valve seat ... only needed if lower casting is before some time in 1929 .ie. if it is tapped with 5MM - .75 tap ... After that the seat was machined into the casting.

Benson- thanks, didn`t think of that.
100IH- all I know is what I`ve been told, Kayce is a European Zenith, the only difference between them is the name stamped on the bowl. All the parts are the same, hence the Zenith kit. Maybe someone on the forum knows a bit more, Zenith carbs were quite common on early English cars.

I once saw a list of ALL the companies that made replacement carbs for Model A's. It was almost UNBELIEVABLE! One had a Japanese name.
