Default Electrical issues on my 37 v8 60 coupe

So the problem is that the car is completely dead. Everything was working great and then the other day i tried to start it and nothing. The car has never been restored so it still has original wiring harness. I've also converted it to 12v a while ago. The test light shows that everything is grounded. The battery is charged. I do believe the starter button is bad because it should crank the engine even when the switch is off. The odd part is that with the power switch on, the test light shows no power going to anything but when I jump the battery directly to the solenoid, the car cranks and tries to start. I put the test light on the Bat terminal of the voltage regulator while jumping the solenoid and the thing lights up, the Bat terminal should be hot all the time but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?
